Located on beautiful and rugged Kodiak Island, Alaska’s Paradise Charters offers a variety of incredible outdoor adventures. We are situated in the middle of the world’s premiere fishing, hunting and wildlife viewing paradise. The cool crystal waters and unpopulated shores of the Kodiak Island archipelago are teeming with an incredible variety of fish and wildlife- and the scenery is simply stunning!  

 Our waters contain some of the richest concentrations of sport fish on the planet: halibut, lingcod, all five species of pacific salmon, rockfish and a myriad of other marine animals inhabit the depths. When you factor in Kodiak’s world class stream and lake fishing, the fishing opportunities here are nearly endless.  Salmon, trout and char (dolly varden) are often found in great numbers in the waters along our road system and make a great addition to your vacation!

 Kodiak should be at the top of any adventurers list of places to explore!  Whales, porpoises, seals, sea lions, and sea otters abound. Throughout the spring and summer, enormous rookeries of puffins, kittiwakes, gulls, murres, auklets and other seabirds fill the bluffs along the coast with their raucous calls and fluttering wings. Kodiak is the winter home to numerous species of waterfowl, with many species rarely seen outside of Alaska and Siberia! Hundreds of thousands of ducks, geese, swans, sea birds, shore birds, song birds and raptors annually pass through, stop over, or call Kodiak home. Eagles are always present and often gather by the dozens and at times, by the hundreds to feast on spawning salmon, herring, or any other fish or small animal they can catch with their powerful talons.

 Kodiak’s famous brown bears are sometimes seen cruising the shoreline and hillsides, or prowling the islands numerous rivers and streams in search of their next meal. Sitka blacktail deer, foxes and land otters are also abundant and may be spotted wandering the shoreline and along the Kodiak road system. Mountain Goats may be easily viewed as they travel and feed along the mountain sides far above the tree line, often just above town. Elk inhabit several of the adjacent islands in relatively large numbers and several herds of Bison roam the Kodiak road system.
